UP Alyansa ng mga Mag-aaral para sa Panlipunang Katwiran at Kaunlaran

Deal meaningful services

We aspire to deliver meaningful services that cater to the specific and diverse needs of the UP students.

  • I-MAX (Information MAXimization) – The USC will disseminate primers discussing relevant topics such as the utilization of library services (UPLINK – Library Information Key), the RGEP (EDGE – Education on the GE Program), grade monitoring (The GC) and information on and application for scholarships, grants, and the STFAP (ISKO) as part of our endeavor to deliver academic services.
  • ISKOlarship and Grants Fair – The USC shall conduct a week-long fair that will showcase scholarships and research grants available for students.
  • FREE (Facilities, Resources, and Equipment Lending) – The USC shall open its property (i.e. books, sound system, fax machine) for student use and lending. It shall likewise invest in other resources such as panel boards, LCD projector, etc.
  • UPlift Vinzons – The USC will continue the transformation of the Vinzons’ Hall into a true student center that is accessible to everyone.
  • Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE) – The USC will continue and revitalize the advancement of academic excellence by means of alternative education apart from the usual classroom discussions.
  • DormMATE (Dormitory Maintenance and Assistance Agenda) - The USC will work closely with the Office of Student Housing and the Alliance of Concerned Dormitories to address their dorm problems especially issues on facilities (Dorm Check). Special fund-raising projects (Dorm ko, Love ko) will be arranged specifically for dorms. A primer on student housing within and near the campus will also be released (Bedspacer).
  • OrgNet (Organization Network) – The USC will enhance coordination and communication with all University and college organizations in order to monitor and act upon their concerns and to disseminate information relevant to their endeavors. With this, we will also reconvene the Acad Core, the alliance of academic organizations in UP. Furthermore, we will disseminate the Organization Guide (OrG) containing information on recognition guidelines and other related regulations. Along with these, we will aid organizations in the acquisition or reconstruction of their tambayans (Tambayanihan).
  • Live Wire – The USC will coordinate with the UP Administration and Computer Center to make all college libraries and dormitories “WIFI hot spots” to ensure internet access that is broad, fast, and unlimited.
  • Bike UP! – The USC, recognizing the need to have lanes for alternative, environment-friendly transportation (i.e. bicycles), will aim for the allocation of such lanes. Racks and parking or storage areas for such will also be provided for.
  • Grad Aid – The USC will establish a Graduating Students’ Ad hoc Committee that will coordinate with the different college grad committees regarding activities and concerns. This also intends to assist graduating students in looking for jobs by coordinating with different companies, the government, and non-government organizations. Coordination will also be done with the Annual University Job Fair Committee.
  • UPGrad - The USC will lobby for the extension of library hours in the different colleges to provide graduate students more time for study and research. We will also organize seminars on graduate studies abroad wherein students will be made aware of the different opportunities for pursuing higher degrees, short courses and exchange programs abroad.
  • Fresh Start – The USC will convene the University Freshmen Circle that will empower our new Iskolars para sa Bayan to conduct their own activities apart from the other projects such as the Freshman Lounge within the USC office, which will serve as a venue for study and interaction. The USC will also maintain close coordination with the FOPC in initiating relevant activities for the freshmen.
